Cafe owners Scott Parker and Heath Nicholson are adopting a ‘‘tree to cup’’ philosophy, where they actually travel to the coffee bean growing regions and work directly with locals to source high-quality products. However, it goes beyond just providing a delicious cup of coffee for the Shepparton pair, which is also sponsoring and offering a fair price to the coffee growers and their communities.

‘‘We work with the village from the very start of the process and hope people will join our movement by helping us sponsor these overseas coffee growers, and will even offer them the opportunity to come with us on trips to see how the whole coffee process works,’’

This is a much more holistic approach to coffee culture and it’s at the heart of new Fryers Street Australia, cafe Brother Pablo will be opening some time this week.
